We provide certified products to our customers and end users through a chain of custody that tracks products from the forest all the way through the manufacturing process. All successive stages of processing, transformation, distribution and manufacturing must receive a COC certificate for labeled products to be sold.
A little over two years ago, PSA decided to take our card operations to the next level. We brought in outside consultants focused on Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing and made significant investments within the facility creating a true lean manufacturing environment. That process included consolidating our card manufacturing and personalization operations under one roof, moving equipment to create true card manufacturing production cells focused on end-to-end manufacturing of card products and services, and cutting out waste and redundancy throughout the order production process. These steps, as well as others, transformed our card manufacturing facility from a good card plant to an industry leading end-to-end card manufacturing and personalization facility. The results are remarkable – cycle times significantly shorter than industry levels, quality levels well above of our competitors, and service levels that are unmatched in the industry. At a time when other manufacturers were cutting back, PSA made significant investments in people, process and equipment.
